Devon's First World War hospitals - researchers' workshop
Mon 27 February 2017, 09:30 – 13:00 GMT
A morning of knowledge sharing, tips, and resources for researching WW1 hospitals in Devon
This workshop is open to anyone involved in researching Devon's war hospitals or keen to start. You may be interested in a specific hospital in your part of Devon, or an aspect of WW1 medical care across the county.
There were 45 Red Cross hospitals in Devon during WW1 and many others as well. We will celebrate and share the work that has been successfully done already, and encourage new research into hospitals that have not yet been investigated.
The workshop will be led by Dr Julia Neville and will draw on her extensive experience researching Exeter's war hospitals. There will also be time to chat and exchange findings and ideas with other volunteers with similar interests.
The workshop is free and includes a light lunch. Places are limited and attendees are expected to contribute their eventual findings to the Devon Remembers collection at Devon Archives. This is a permanent collection of WW1 material and research being created as part of the Devon Remembers Heritage Project.
