Dewar Shield Cup Final - Club Santacruzense de Londres v Sabanoh 97
Sun 30 April 2017, 14:30 – 17:00 BST
The Woolwich and Eltham Sunday Football Alliance League Cup is actually a shield. The Dewar Shield dates back to 1905, was presented to the Woolwich Alliance, as it was known then, by the sports minded baronet, Sir Thomas John Dewar. It is one of a number but possibly the best preserved of the trophies he presented in that and succeeding years.
Sabanoh will be looking to retain the Shield, and face stiff competition from Portuguese side Club Santacruzense de Londres from Stockwell, one thing can be certain, that one of them will be adding their names to the Shield which already contains such names as Charlton Athletic FC winners in 1910, 1911 & 1913.
A superb competitive game of football is sure to be seen, the two teams have already faced each other this season with the spoils being shared in a 2-2 draw. Sabanoh 97 are the league leaders, with Santacruzense being one of the closest challengers with numerous games in hand due to their form in the cups.
Children aged aged 0-15 are admitted free.
