Description

The Department for Education is delighted to announce the launch of its Social Mobility Network on the 19th of July, for civil servants in the DfE and across government departments.

The launch will take place at the DfE Sheffield office, rooms 3.04 & 3.05, on Thursday 19th July 2018 11.00 - 13.00. Colleagues in the London office may join the launch via Skype in room SB 3.12.

The launch will include talks by Indra Morris (DFE’s social mobility Champion), the Chair of our social mobility network Andy Hurdle and a keynote address by Professor Sonia Blandford, CEO of Achievement for All and author of 'Born to Fail?: Social Mobility and the Working Class'. We will also be looking at how DFE is performing on the Social Mobility Employer Index, which ranks employers on the work to increase social mobility in their workforce. There will also be a panel discussion with an opportunity for all to discuss pertinent issues arising from what they have heard and ask questions of the panel.

We hope this will be an excellent opportunity for civil servants who are interested and passionate about social mobility to network and take part in the conversation.
