Description

Please note: This event is for DfT SCS only.

Our brains are brilliant in many ways but they have certain limitations. If we can understand our brains a little better, then we can help our brains make less-biased and better decisions.

In this 2-hour thought leadership session, come ready to hear some research and evidence from applied neuroscience and behavioural science, and to collaborate and contribute your ideas on what this means for the way that we work in the Department for Transport.

We will explore:

  • The shortcuts our brains like to take (and how they make us susceptible to bias)

  • Some of the types of bias to which our brains are prone

  • We all like to think we can see what is going on around us, but…

  • Roundtable discussions: what do we think about what we have just heard? What should we/can we put in place?
