Description

Patients with diabetes are at higher risk of mental health disorders than the general population. Patients with mental health disorders are also at a higher risk of developing diabetes.

The Health Education England Mental Health Programme, working across Kent, Surrey and Sussex, in partnership with Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust and Sanofi are pleased to offer this Fully Funded One Day Workshop in Diabetes Management and Insulin Safety in Mental Health - for RMNs, RGNs and other clinicians to update skills, knowledge and confidence around supporting diabetic patients.

Opening speaker: Dr Jesse Kumar, Consultant Endocrinologist & Diabetologist. Practical sessions facilitated by experienced Diabetic Nurses, including Sarah Gregory, Diabetes Specialist Nurse and Diabetes UK Clinical Champion.

4 sessions based on TREND competency framework: Medication for diabetes, Hypoglycaemia, Insulin Safety & Pen demonstration and needles. All participants will be required to complete a pre-course self-assessment.

Lunch provided. Free parking available (subject to availability).
