Unregistered attendees must have completed the NVQ / QCF Level 3 and medications module prior to attendance.
Attendees will have a workbook to complete prior to attendance, which will be sent out a week before the course please check your spam

What are the SMART learning outcomes for the course?

• Be aware of different types of diabetes

• Identify main complications of untreated diabetes

• Safely undertake blood glucose & ketone monitoring

• Identify signs of hypoglycaemia and hyperglycaemia

• Understand medications in diabetes care

• Understand how insulin works and safe administration

• Be aware of sick day rules and when to seek medical advice


The carers need to have an have annual reassessment. If someone doesn’t get assessed in 12 months from attending the course they should re-attend the training.
