Event description

Description

Suitable for HCAs, this training will give an introduction to the foot screening process and an introduction to the diabetic foot.

During this session, there will be discussions about why we screen the diabetic patient's foot, the relevance of the tests carried out, how to carry them out appropriately and the significance of the results including risk stratification.

The pathophysiology of the diabetic foot will also be discussed in simple terms looking at treatment, complications and when to refer patients.

Each participant is required to allow others to undertake the tests on them, therefore participants need to ensure its easy to take their shoes and socks off.
