What's accessibility like at the venue?

As an old mill building, it largely has stair-only access. There’s a limited lift facility, but it must be requested in advance to ensure availability and support. If you have any accessibility needs, please email info@gm4women2028.org.

Can men and boys join the event too?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We need everyone in society to work together towards gender equality because sexism affects everyone. We actively encourage men and boys to meet and participate in our Bolton event as well.

How do I get there by train?

Accepted Answer

Based at Imagination Street on Chorley Old Road, take the train to Bolton railway station then a short taxi ride to the venue. There’s no taxi rank at the station so you can try Metro Cars (01204 520 000), United Taxis (01204 61548), Haslam Cars (01204 658 888) or Uber.

How do I get there by bus?

Bus number 125 travels from Bolton interchange, which sits alongside Bolton railway station, and the bus stops on Chorley Old Road at Avenue Street – directly next to the venue. You’ll see the Post Office with the mill building (Nortex Business Centre) adjacent to it.

How do I get there by car?

Accepted Answer

If you plan to journey by car, use postcode BL1 3AS. Please consider lift sharing to limit our environmental impact and minimise parking requirements. There’s space for 50-ish cars at the venue as well as street parking on Chorley Old Road which is free and has no time restriction.

Will the event be filmed or photographed?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  As it may be filmed and photographed, please let us know ahead of time if you'd prefer not to participate. We’ll arrange for you to be seated in the back. This ‘no films or photographs’ area will be signed.

Our aim is bringing together individuals from throughout Greater Manchester to share the lived experiences of women and girls across our core themes of employment, safety, participation, education and culture, and sport.

What are Dialogue, Deeds, Determination events?

Our events first launched in 2022 as we approached the 100-year anniversary of the Equal Franchise Act of 1928 which granted equal voting rights to women and men. We're carrying on these regular regional dialogues to hear from people like you - people committed to gender equality.
