About this event

We are inviting you to take some time out and to connect with nature each month at Diamond Wood Country Park, on the edge of Rugby.

This is the second of our monthly sessions, which will be running every third Sunday of the month from August 2025 - July 2026. These sessions are thanks to funding support from Severn Trent Community Fund. To find out more see here: Diamond Wood Country Park | Warwickshire Wildlife Trust

What will we be doing?

For this second session we will be meeting at 10.30am, having a gentle walk around the site and using our smart photos to take some up close (macro) photos of things we see! If you don't have a smart phone we will have some magnifying glasses to use too. We will be Taking Notice of the small things around us.

We will end the session back in the car park for a cup of tea/coffee and a chance to chat.

Is it for me?

This session is for anyone who wants to gently explore nature and spend time with other people. You don't need to know anything about nature to join us - any level of nature knowledge is welcome!

It will be a slow paced walk, on largely grass pathways, with some inclines. There are also some steps from the car park.

Families are welcome to attend, but the sessions will be largely designed for adults (18+) and any children must be accompanied by an adult.

We would love to have local Rugby residents joining us for these sessions, but anyone is welcome :-)

If you are looking for something a bit more physcially active we are also running a monhtly practical conservation sessions at Diamond Wood on the first Saturday of the month - please contact Lucy.Hawker@wkwt.org.uk to find out more.

How do I get there, and can I park?

Diamond Wood is on the south side of Rugby and is owned by Rugby Borough Council: Rugby Diamond Wood Country Park - Rugby Borough Council.

There will be parking available for this session and we will email you more details when you book your free place.

Diamond Wood can also be reached on foot from Rugby using the linear pathway along Ashlawn cutting Ashlawn Cutting | Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.

There are bus routes that stop near the site, but please check Sunday bus times as they may operate a reduced timetable.

Who is leading it?

The session will be led by Anna Wright, Health and Wellbeing Manager, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.

Where can I find out more?

If you have questions we haven't answered here, please contact Anna.Wright@wkwt.org.uk who will be able to help you.
