    DIARMUID AND PAUL’S GARDEN FESTIVAL

    Diarmuid and Paul are delighted to invite you to their second very special Garden Festival, A Gathering of Gardeners . They will be hosting the garden festival in Ballinskelligs, Co Kerry, an idyllic village on the magnificent Wild Atlantic Way, in the south west of Ireland.

    ABOUT THIS EVENT

    A festival with a difference ! The Garden Festival Get Together is a celebratory gathering for plant lovers and gardeners of any type who are passionate about all things plants and gardening.

    Expect a warm welcome!

    The Festival promises three busy days shared with like minded garden enthusiasts and evening activities filled with music, laughter, flowers and fun.

    The Festival is beautifully situated in a ‘Big Top’ and tented mini village above the breathtaking scenery of Ballinskelligs Beach with a stunning backdrop of a mountain headland view . Diarmuid and Paul will be hosting in their unique and inimitable style with visits from additional guest speakers.

    WHAT’S ON

    The long weekend will feature garden talks, workshops and demonstrations from Diarmuid and Paul and other gardening experts.

    Plant specialists, horticultural experts, head gardeners and media friends will be joining them over the three days, doing talks, workshops presentations, and walkabouts.

    Topics to include:

    Houseplants, care fundamentals, light and propagation.

    Edible gardens, seed starting, planning and beyond.

    Urban gardening - creative solutions for successful gardening in small spaces, raised beds and containers.

    Pollinators and plants, understanding natives, bees , butterflies and birds.

    How to plant the perfect pot!

    Understanding bulbs, corms and tubers.

    Organic gardening, no-dig gardening, analysing soil and composting.

    And much much more.

    Workshops and demonstrations will also offer practical advice on a host of gardening techniques, pottery firings, illustration and design methods and more.

    WHAT TO EXPECT

    Expect the unexpected!

    Regulars can expect what they’ve come to expect, great gardening , exciting events and lots of fun.

    THE EVENT

    Presentations and demonstrations will go on throughout the day transforming Ballinskelligs into a plant lovers paradise. Punctuated by all Ballinskelligs has to offer, amazing scenery, beach walks , beautiful cafes, relaxing with a glass or two, fascinating history, strolling the Skellig Monks Trail, live music, art exhibitions and surprise events.

    A huge range of green-fingered know-how and practical information will be on offer from the horticultural experts panel, a Gardeners Question Time will be the finale, a perfect time to get those gardening questions answered!

    Plus for an extra piece of fun, Diarmuid and Paul will be holding their infamous ‘Great Unfair Gardening Quiz “ in which, yes , you’ve guessed it, they always win.

    WHAT’S FOR SALE

    There will be selection of stalls selling local food produce, Festival merchandise and illustrator Steve Simpsons iconic prints. Plus hardy exotic plants, Artisan pottery from Fermoyle, ceramics, and garden crafts.

    Over the coming weeks the complete line up will be announced on Diarmuid and Pauls instagram pages along with the day time events a series of extra curricular evening activities will be announced for which separate ticketing will be available.
