Join us for a talk by Glynn Wales about Dickens and aspects of Victorian social and economic life which his writing revealed.

Dickens was one of a few contemporary authors to recognise the importance of railways as Britain's major contribution to civilisation, although his own relationship with the phenomenon was ambiguous.
