  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

Open to all managing chalk grassland, this event, kindly hosted by Hugh Passmore, will look at the management system in place at Applesham Farm and discuss how a range of management systems can acheive the goal of healthy chalk grassland. We will spend the morning looking at Hugh's chalk grassland in all its glory and look at some of the key indicator species and how to idenfity them. There will be light refreshments available.

This event is funded by Changing Chalk and facilatated by Pasture for Life and the South Downs National Park Authority.

Changing chalk is a partnership of organisations, supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, working together for the future of the South Downs. Through this project, we are reversing the decline of the fragile chalk grassland, and connecting the local communities to the nationally significant landscape on their doorstep.

Led by the National Trust, the partnership connects nature, people and heritage. It is restoring lost habitats, bringing histories to life, and offering new experiences in the outdoors.
