Welcome to the third in our new series of writers meetings, offering an informal, critical space to test out new work.

Our third featured writer is Giulia Loi, whose short story 'A Filmmaker of Our Time' was published in DS issue 3. The story's narrative drifts in and out of airport daydreams and interview formats to meditate on the vanity of skyscrapers and the herorism of window cleaners, all the while the three 'flame' buildings of Baku hovering on the horizon.

Working between performance, writing and mental health activism, Giulia's work has featured in Hysteria magazine, Dandelion journal, Contributoria and elsewhere. She is currently a teacher in Rome and is preparing a collection of poetry titled 'Songs of the South and Inspiration'. Giulia will present some writing from the collection, followed by questions and discussion.

In the second half we're lucky to be joined by two more brilliant writers who will be sharing their work - Chima Nsoedo and Sean Mahoney. Check out some of their work here:

After that we move to an open mic session, but without the mic. Email editors@differentskies.net if you'd like to share something, or just turn up on the night. We will do our best to fit in as many people as possible.
