Differentiation - making it work for your learners and for you
This session will introduce a range of different techniques for differentiation in beginner ESOL classes, participants will be able to evaluate different techniques and their practicality for teachers. There will also be an opportunity to work together with colleagues to identify new ways to include differentiation in their lessons.
This workshop will be delivered by Phil Bird. Phil has been teaching ESOL since 2004 and has also worked on the British Council's ESOL Nexus and English My Way projects. He currently works at Lewisham Southwark College
The session is suitable for tutors (paid or volunteer) working with lower level learners.
Places cost £5 (£7 for tutors not living or teaching in Newham). Any surplus will go to Newham ESOL Exchange

The Community Involvement Unit (CIU)is a team of specialists providing a comprehensive package of quality advice and information aimed at supporting and strengthening voluntary and community groups. The unit was established in 1991 and is based at Durning Hall in Forest Gate.
