Event description

Description

We know it can be tricky to discuss gender issues, especially when other cultural identities come into play.

Whatever stage of your teaching career you're at, in the fast paced and often chaotic environment of the classroom it can be a struggle to respond to issues in a timely and appropriate way, and starting conversations about race and religion is not always easy.

At LKMco, we are therefore excited to be working with The Whole School Equality Programme: Gender Champions at The Institue of Physics, and Sheffield Hallam University to address these issues head on.

We want to empower you to have these discussions and kick off the conversation in your own school, making sure that your gender work is inclusive of everyone.

This event is for teachers across all subjects, and will involve an expert panel and discussion, followed by refreshments and networking.

Speakers will be updated closer to the event, but so far include:

Chair - Ellie Mulcahy, Senior Research Associate, LKMco
  • Keziah Featherstone - Head Teacher, Co-Founder #WomenEd
  • Angela Browne - Head Teacher, Founder of #NourishEd Collective
  • Pran Patel - Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Standards
  • Bilal Harry Khan - Faciliator, Youth Empowerment
  • Amanda Williams, Lecturer in Psychology, School of Education, University of Bristol

This event will be filmed and live streamed. To opt out of this, please contact eleanor@lkmco.org.
