DIGESTIVE HEALTH WORKSHOP

Our digestion is the absolute foundation of our health. With 80% of our immune system based in our gut plus the significant link between gut-brain health, happy tummies are the key to a happy, healthy self.

This interactive & informative Digestive Health workshop will provide you with the tools you need to support all aspects of gut health, navigate foods to aid digestion and soothe digestive discomfort, as well as a detailed focus on fermented foods. Jo & Georgie from Eight Food will explore with you the exciting world of fermentation and its benefits for health, including demonstrations on how to make your own kefir, kombucha & kimchi. They will also be on hand to answer any burning cooking or nutrition questions, providing plenty of handy health tips & nutrition nuggets.

A healthy delicious lunch will be included, in addition to lots of recipe tasting throughout the course of the day.

THE WORKSHOPS

Georgie, a chef, and Jo, a Nutritional Therapist, have been friends for many years. One day they were chatting about foods to boost to support the immune system and how to incorporate these foods into family friendly recipes. It soon became apparent that this wisdom could benefit others. We have since combined our knowledge of cooking, recipe creation and nutrition to create quick and delicious recipes that really do work within the context of busy family life, without endless lists of impossible ingredients.


ABOUT GEORGIE

Having completed her training at Leith's School of Food and Wine in 2006, Georgie then went back to teach at Leiths as well as setting up her own private catering company cooking for a variety of high profile clients. She has also been lucky enough to travel with her cooking – training chefs at the world renowned Relais Chateaux Shakti 360 Leti, developing a passion for the flavour & colour of different cultural cuisines. She also lived out in Sri Lanka for a few months and immersed herself into the cuisine, coming home armed with new recipes and techniques.Throughout her career as a chef she has covered a pretty extensive scope, from recipe testing, menu writing, food photography and styling, working with high profile publications and writing many a cooking course.

Most recently she has been a teacher at Leiths as well as being a regular guest chef at the new James Martin Cookery School at Chewton Glen. Georgie has also recently completed her yoga teacher training.

ABOUT JO

Jo has a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy and trained at the College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Havings always had an interest in the power of nutrition and the magic of the human body, after working in London for several years in broadcast media, she felt it was time to turn her love into a qualification and future career. After three years of intensive study, she gained a diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition at the renowned CNM in London and has around 8 years clinical experience. She feels strongly that better education is the key to a foundation of healthy eating, in the midst of so many conflicting messages and constantly changing research. Her aim is to use her up-to-date knowledge to guide and support, with the ultimate goal of improving your health and vitality. Jo has a particular interest in women & children's health issues and supporting digestive health. Jo is married with three young children.

Jo sees private clients as part of the Nature Doc team - lead by experienced naturopath Lucinda Miller. She also co-founded family wellbeing hub Eight, supplying nutritious frozen ready meals for delivery, delicious health focused recipes as well as their nutrition & cookery workshops.

Timing 10.30-2.30pm

Price £85 (including a delicious lunch and plenty of tasting throughout the day!). Dietary requirements can be catered for. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
