Do you need help with using a computer? Not sure what it’s all about? Why not join our free Computing for beginners course at Sunderland.

Great help and very useful if Santa brought you a tablet or a new device.

To be eligible or this free course you need to 19+ and in receipt of an active benefit –ie JSA/ESA/Income Support/Universal Credit

You can also have support from our Employment Engagement Team and be encouraged & supported to apply for vacancies including opportunities to meet employers in a weekly job club. You will also get a course handbook for further reference and a number of step by step guides to support you at home.

The 10 day programme covers
• Social media and how it can support Jobsearch and promote social inclusion –Facebook Twitter Linked-In
• Accessing Direct Gov and optimising its use - making claims to benefit, paying TV licence etc
• Building confidence in Universal Jobmatch
• Coaching in using a Universal Jobmatch account to ensure you know how to maximise its use to find and apply for relevant vacancies and how to record activity to support Work Focused Interviews
• Computer Safety & Security
• Improving confidence in using IT to search for vacancies and employers
• Introduction to email and its wider use, including attaching files and contacting employers directly
• Keyboard skills
