By UCL Department of Information Studies

Overview

What happens to reading for wellbeing when the books aren’t on paper? Join a discussion on digital bibliotherapy.

What happens to reading for wellbeing when the books aren’t on paper, or a reading community meets in a virtual space? How, and why, do reading practices change, and what does this mean for readers who make use of e-books, audiobooks, and/or online communities? Hear about initial findings from the Co-Creating Digital Bibliotherapy project, funded by UCL’s Grand Challenge of Mental Health & Wellbeing, and join in a conversation about bibliotherapy with the UCL Centre for Publishing.

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 6 - 15 November 2025. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, with generous support from Research England, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
