Join us at Northumberland County Hall Council Chambers on Wednesday 13 November from 9.30 - 11.30 am for a training session that will help you get out into your community and spread the benefit of being online. The 2 1/2 hour training session, delivered by Tinder Foundation, will cover:
The role of a Digital Champion
What you’re expected to do as a Digital Champion
How to address the barriers, and the common reasons people aren’t on the internet
What other support is available in the community so learners can continue their journey.
Sessions will allow you to meet other Digital Champions in the North East, to share your motivations and stories. You’ll also learn more about the UK online centres in your area, how you can work with them to increase your impact.
This training session is being held in conjunction with energy company E.ON as part of the Go ON North East campaign to help boost the basic online skills of every person, small business and charity.
This session is open to anyone working within the community and voluntary sector, local authorities and housing associations as well as individuals looking to volunteer their time to learn more about becoming a Digital Champion.
For those who want to maximise the impact of their training, E.ON are sponsoring these sessions, and will be on hand to help you hold an event in your own community to provide support to those people who need it most.
