Event description

Description

Course leader: Dr Anne Alexander

This session will explore a range of digital technologies used in collaborative scholarship at different phases in the lifecycle of academic research and teaching. Through a combination of presentations and group discussion, participants will learn methods for identifying tools and practices to aid networking and team communication, running virtual and mixed-reality meetings, and collaborative editing and production. There will be an opportunity to share skills and experiences with other researchers as well as hearing about where to go for further advice and technical support.

Key issues addressed include:

  • Choosing your collaboration platforms
  • Paid-for vs ‘free’ services
  • Managing online identities: public, professional, personal
  • Ownership and control of data
  • Information security in collaborative environments

PhD students and staff from the University of Cambridge have priority for bookings on this course - if the course appears fully booked and you fall into this category please contact the course organisers directly
