Digital Day of Ideas 2016

Join us for the fifth annual Digital Day of Ideas symposium at the University of Edinburgh on 18 May 2016, for a showcase of some of the best digital research being done in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
We are delighted to be welcoming three excellent keynote speakers:
Karen Gregory, Lecturer in Digital Sociology, University of Edinburgh
Lorna Hughes, Professor in Digital Humanities at the Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute, University of Glasgow
Ted Underwood, Professor and LAS Centennial Scholar of English, University of Illinois
Participants will also have the opportunity to try some digital tools and approaches for themselves in workshops led by experts:
- Tweeting and Blogging for Academics
- The Edinburgh Geoparser
- Data Visualisation with D3.js
- Extracting and Analyzing Discussion Data with Google Sheets and Google Analytics
- Make Your Own Chat Bot
- Building a Scholarly WordPress Site
