Want to get the most out of being on-line but worried about the risks? Concerned about staying safe from online scams to bullying and grooming? This inclusive, accessible course is designed to empower those receiving support, and the people who support them, to navigate the digital world more safely.

Format:

This on-line course is co-delivered by ARC Scotland Associates and expert trainers so you will receive practical, up-to-date and supportive information leaving you feel more confident in the digital world. All our impactful courses are co-led by the ARC Scotland Associates with real lived-experience.

Relevant to ALL especially those receiving support, their families, carers and professionals who help them.

Learning Outcomes:

Lived-experience led training will always stick with you. In this authentic learning journey you’ll:

  • Strengthen your understanding of cyber scams, cyberbullying, and online grooming.
  • How to deal confidently with any issues that arise online.
  • Gain practical tools, a heightened awareness, and the confidence to support safer digital engagement for all.

Cost

£75, or £10 for people who receive support or parents / carers (unpaid). Early bird offers available.

Our trainers

Gloria Greganti - brings over 10 years of experience working in social care and participation, with a focus on human rights.

Tony Bowman - works on the SOLD Network and is an expert in approaches to prevent and reduce offending for people with communication support needs.

Lynnette Linton – is a trainer in Talking Mats and used to be the Chair of the National Involvement Network (NIN). She is now on the Board of Trustees for ARC UK.

Your cancellation charges

If you are unable to attend the course you are booked on, you may substitute, by prior arrangement and after notifying us, someone else from your organisation.If you are unable to attend, and not in a position to transfer your place to another person, then the following charges will apply:

3-8 weeks' notice: 25% of fee

1-3 weeks' notice: 75% of fee

Less than 1 weeks’ notice: 100% of fee

ARC's cancellation

Please note that full payment is required for non-attendance on a booking that has been transferred.ARC Scotland events and courses are periodically updated and while we endeavour to deliver the courses as advertised there may inevitably be occasions where we have to change content without prior notice or, in exceptional circumstances, to cancel an event.In the case of a course cancellation delegates will either be offered an alternative date, a credit note or a full refund and we will also consider any reasonable request to cover non-refundable travel arrangements if a course is cancelled within 2 working days of the start day.
