Digital Engagement & Cyber Security

Digital marketing is expanding but increased customer engagement and greater use of social media without better cyber security can put a business at risk. The government’s own statistics show two thirds of large companies in the UK have suffered a cyber breach or attack in the last year.

It’s a dilemma faced by many businesses. You want to maximise your online presence and customer engagement but you need to ensure your systems are safe from hackers and virus attacks.

The next SBP breakfast meeting on 22 September will provide a range of answers to the issue of maximising your online business opportunities while keeping your business systems safe from cyber attacks.

Helen Culshaw is an experienced public speaker and trainer based in Shropshire, operating in the UK and overseas, most recently at a conference in Croatia. Helen has over 15 years experience in the digital marketing as Managing Director of Ascendancy Internet Marketing and a wealth of teaching and training experience.

Helen said: “Great content encourages people to link to business websites and shows Google your pages are interesting and authoritative. This leads to a higher ranking on search engines because Google wants to show interesting the most authoritative and interesting pages in its search results."

Steve Borwell is the Managing Director of Borwell the cyber security specialists. He will share current information with practical examples of how to keep business safe online. This will cover vulnerability scans, penetration testing, website security tests, software and hardware remedial work, with tips on keeping your business secure online.

Join colleagues and guests at the next Shropshire Business Partnership breakfast meeting on 22 September to understand how to help protect your business against cybercrime while maximising your online potential.

The meeting is supported by Henshalls Insurance with Anthony Hughes explaining how best to protect your business. A full English breakfast is served with lighter options and special dietary needs available on request, email info@shropshirebusiness.org
