About this event

Audience: All members of staff who are planning their personal professional development for 2021 with a specific focus on essential digital skills. Managers may also be interested in how they can promote the use of LinkedIn Learning for colleagues in their team.

Context: The University is committed to helping staff to develop their potential and career in terms of knowledge, skills and abilities in line with the aims and objectives of their School/Institute/Service and the University. LinkedIn Learning is an online platform that can support you with these aims. It contains over 1,000 video-based, professional courses in a wide range of areas such as technology, business and creative themes. Courses are led by experts, and are on average an hour long, broken down into bite-sized modules. Since the introduction of Linkedin Learning in 2019 there has been an 85% increase in usage. Many students are also completing entire courses recommended by their tutors.

A collection of relevant resources to support essential digital skills has been created for staff within LinkedIn Learning. This will be particularly useful for new staff and any member of staff who wishes to improve their digital skills in line with the University’s Digital Literacy Framework.

Format: This 30-minute webinar informs colleagues of the benefits of LinkedIn Learning for professional development and showcases the Digital Essentials collection for staff. There is an optional 15-minute Q&A at the end of the webinar.

Pre-requisites: Please ensure that you have registered with LinkedIn Learning and you have logged in with your University account. Visit the LinkedIn Learning Knowledge Base Article for details.
