Digital Health Navigator Training June
Thu 8 June 2017, 13:30 – 16:30 BST
DIGITAL HEALTH NAVIGATOR TRAINING
Kingston Digital Health Navigator training offers a practical hands-on session for your volunteers and staff, giving them the skills and knowledge to help local people find their way around a wealth of online health information.
Activities and resources include:
- A walkthrough of the NHS Choices website with themed searches and quizzes
- A detailed look at local health directories including an overview of the services and support voluntary and community groups offer
- How to install and using NHS recommended health apps
- Signposting people to online support to develop their digital skills
There will be plenty of time for discussion around how you can apply your new skills and knowledge within your organisation. There will be many opportunities to ask questions and share personal experiences.
IT skills levels
You don't need the skills of a Google Intern to attend this training. As long as you have the basic knowledge of how to search for information, save it and share it via email - you will do just fine. But you do need a genuine interest in supporting the health and wellbeing of the local community in Kingston.
About the trainer and venue
This is a highly interactive learning session delivered by Philippa Leary, Kingston Digital Health Coordinator. Philippa is a qualified teacher with fifteen years' experience of community based training to get people online. The training suite is well equipped, including an interactive white board so everyone can follow the demonstrations. There is also a very large table in the centre of the room, perfectly placed for breakout discussions and some 'non-digital' pen and paper work.
All attendees will receive a Kingston Digital Health Navigator certificate on completion.
Please note the funding for this project only allows us to train volunteers and staff living/working in Kingston -upon -Thames.
