Digital is for everyone
Event Information
About this Event
What does digital mean to you? Is it about your customers? Is it about new processes? Or is it all about your technology?
Well, actually it’s about a delicate combination of all of these all encompassed by your digital mindset. Recently we have seen some great examples of digital working in the public sector and sadly, some that have got gone so well. Unfortunately for the latter, a digital transformation programme can be unforgiving and, if it doesn’t work can have consequences on budgets, ways of working and more seriously maintaining business continuity.
Join Darren Roberts, SWAP Assistant Director for ICT, as he walks through how you can get into your digital mindset and be involved in programmes that will truly make a big difference to the services you provide. And find out how simply handing the problem to your IT Manager will not solve anything. The session will also include an interactive exercise on how to provide scrutiny over new digital solutions and allow you to highlight risks from the outset of a proposal.
The learning objectives will give you confidence in providing scrutiny for digital programmes and to ask that “what if?” questioning over supplier led new innovations.
Specifically the outputs will be:-
• What do we mean by Digital?
• What is the Digital Mindset?
• What can go wrong?
• Real life examples – good and bad
Darren is the current chair of the British Computer Society’s Specialist Group for Information Risk and Assurance. This BCS group are taking an active interest in emerging technology to make IT good for society.
