About this event
In this free online seminar designed for senior leaders of medium and large* UK heritage organisations, our speakers will explore why this behind-the-scenes element of digital maturity is so vital in meeting your organisation’s aims and objectives and what leaders need to be doing about it.
Join Dr. Lauren Vargas with Adam Koszary and Jack Kirby as they discuss topics including:
- how getting the basics right is often the most effective and transformative innovation of all
- the digital literacies leaders need in order to create the right conditions for change
- the power of assessing and analysing your organisational digital capacity and maturity
- why emotional intelligence is key to achieving digital maturity
- how to take CARE (Communicate, Adapt, Resilient, Empathetic) to be CALM (Collaborative, Anticipatory, Letting-go of control, Mindful) in your approach to digital leadership
Our guests will share their experiences of leading large-scale, foundational digital infrastructure projects in their heritage settings and reflect on the role of leadership in that process. We’ll hear about the ways digital communication and collaboration tools impact on organisational culture, capacity and productivity and how leaders can model the mindset and behaviours they need to see in their teams. We’ll also explore the impact of auditing and truly understanding where your organisation’s digital strengths and weaknesses lie and the role of leaders - managers, executives and boards, in that process.
Lead speaker: Dr. Lauren Vargas, Independent Researcher & Consultant
Guests: Adam Koszary, Head of Digital, The Audience Agency
Jack Kirby, Associate Director of Collections Services, Science Museum Group
This seminar is the third of six in a series called Leading the Sector 2022, which runs from March to September 2022. Each session focusses on a different aspect of digital challenge, change or opportunity that leaders of heritage organisations need to consider and act upon as we all move forward from Covid 19’s digital kickstart.
* by ‘medium and large’ we mean organisations ranging from 10+ FTE up to teams of several hundred.
