Digital making: What we’re learning in 2017
Tue 21 March 2017, 17:30 – 19:30 GMT
Tens of thousands of children across the UK are taking part in digital making initiatives, from learning to code to building their own robots. Organisations providing these experiences are learning all the time about how to engage children and help them to understand technology. This event will bring together people interested in digital making and technology education, and share some of what we are learning about this new and evolving field.
The launch of the report from the first randomised controlled trial into an after-school programming club with Code Club and the National Foundation for Educational Research.
Findings from research into the take-up of computing qualifications from the University of Roehampton, including who is choosing to study the subject and how they are doing.
Panel discussion with digital making organisations on how these activities might develop in future.
Please arrive for 5.30pm for a prompt start. There will be refreshments and an opportunity to network at the end of the event.
