Description

Manufacturing is currently experiencing the 4th industrial revolution. This involves the use of digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, robotics and the industrial internet of things. These digital manufacturing technologies have the potential to improve manufacturing productivity and efficiency whilst reducing its environmental impact. As the manufacturing sector embraces these digital technologies, the roles for future workers at all levels and job families within an organisation will change. This workshop is run by the EPSRC funded Connected Everything Network Plus and will present insights to future career opportunities within digital manufacturing. It will involve interactive sessions with speakers from industry and academia and cover the following topics:

  • What is digital manufacturing

  • What career opportunities are available within digital manufacturing

  • What skills are required for these job roles within digital manufacturing

  • What career support is available/required to support careers in digital manufacturing

This workshop is aimed at PhD students and post-doctoral researchers who wish to learn more about career opportunities within digital manufacturing.

Submit your expression of interest to attend the workshop and we will contact you after 6th June to confirm your place.
