Description

Digital Meaning and Youth Work

Video games are a hugely diverse and varied art form, offering wildly unpredictable experiences, interactive invitations to see life from different perspectives and often beautiful, intricate recreations of other worlds. But they are also often complex, violent and time consuming.

This day will be an eye-opening experience to gather youth workers and explore ways of using video-game spaces meaningfully as we explore their emotional, ethical, spiritual and even worshipful benefits.

There will be games to play hands on. At lunch we’ll be launching the latest Grove Youth Series Booklet Y49 with both co-authors Andy Robertson and Alastair Jones.

There will also be sessions on digital wellbeing, online safety and through the day we will explore positive ways of helping young people and adults enjoy our digital presence well.

The session will be supported beforehand and afterwards with weekly videos on Andy’s Patreon project. You can subscribe to this content for £1/month here: https://www.patreon.com/geekdadgamer
