Conference ID: 666905

igel Parkes from the Digital Publishing team with be demoing the new Publishing Hub.

This session will be useful for anyone who publishes on the Internet as part of their role.

The Digital Publishing team has introduced a new SharePoint ‘Publishing Hub’ (https://shareapp.sp.ons.statistics.gov.uk/sites/DigitalPublications/SitePages/HomePage.aspx) to replace Lotus Notes.

This will now be used by everyone in ONS to manage the various requests sent into the Publishing team, namely:

  1. ‘Publishing Planner’ (aka RPDB), which allows you to schedule the publication of any ‘Articles, Bulletins, Compendiums, Datasets, Methodology articles & QMIs’.
  2. ‘Trackers’, which allows you to send in requests to publishing Market Sensitive & Non-Market Sensitive ‘Articles, Bulletins, Compendiums, Datasets, Methodology articles & QMIs’. To help simplify and speed-up this process we have introduced a ‘Copy release metadata’ function to allow you to copy the metadata from information already published on the ONS website.
  3. ‘Corrections’, which handles requests to correct any mistakes made to an official publication on the ONS website.
  4. ‘User Requested Data’, which handles requests made by a 3rd party to publish content on the ONS website. This also allows you to capture Customer & Invoice details to keep a track of your requests.
  5. ‘General Requests’, which handles requests to publish static content on the ONS site or any other type of request into the Publishing team.

This Session is free to attend but please ask your line managers permission before attending.
