Event description
Digital Safeguarding: the missing link in a child-centred approach to student safety. For school leaders, safeguarding leads and teachers.

About this Event

Hosted by Vital York Limited and Smoothwall, this event will focus on digital monitoring and how, through working in partnership with schools, academies, MATs and external agencies, we can all have a more child-centred approach to student safety.

In addition to speakers from Smoothwall, you will also hear from a national children’s charity, the Regional Cyber Crime team from the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, a Designated Safeguarding Lead in a York school and an expert in security technology. They will share knowledge and information on the changing digital landscape and how best to use technology and solutions to keep young people safe and well in a digital world.

What will you learn?

Our expert speakers will talk to you about the changes in the digital landscape and the risks that these changes can pose for young people. Through case studies they will demonstrate some of the online dangers and threats which exist today, as well as sharing advice about how to stay safe online. Smoothwall will give you practical advice on active monitoring – what it is, why do Ofsted require it and how to integrate it. They will also share their expertise on monitoring and safeguard record keeping and how best to integrate the two for a holistic view of student safety.

“The smarter their digital world becomes, the safer we make it.” Smoothwall

How much does it cost?

This event is free! Priority will be given to colleagues working in schools and colleges.
