Are you a professional working for a Holocaust organisation, or otherwise involved in the development of digital projects related to Holocaust memory and education?

Whether you consider yourself an enthusiastic tech-adopter or someone sceptical or fearful of using digital media in this work, we welcome you to join us for our launch of two initiatives designed to support those working in this field:

1) Sharing Hub – a space for professionals to share the types of documents that help them to manage digital interventions.

2) Training Platform – a site offering free continuing professional development (CPD) modules focused on using digital technologies for Holocaust memory and education.

These resources have been developed as part of our action plan responding to the Recommendations Reports co-created with more than 100 individuals from Holocaust and other heritage organisations, academia, and tech and creative experts.

This launch will be an interactive event in which you will be one of the first people to preview these resources. We will introduce both resources to all participants, before dividing attendees into two groups: one group will explore the sharing hub and the other the training platform during the session. We will then ask for your feedback.

Important Information for Participants Below:

If you would like to explore the sharing hub, you will need to be a member of the Digital Collective Memory platform - a professional networking site funded by the EVZ Foundation and managed by iRights.Lab (it is free to join, you can register via the link). We also recommend having a relevant document that you have permission to share on the platform(some examples of documents include: controlled vocabulary for metadata; digitisation policy; social media strategy; consent forms for preserving or reusing testimony or other digital content; digitalisation / digitisation workflow diagram; user impact research report, etc.).

Alternatively, you can be one of the first users to test our training platform. The training module we will have available at the launch event is called Using Social Media Critically. This is the first module of a 3-part series on social media, the others which will be available later this summer will focus on Developing a Social Media Strategy and Creating Social Media Campaigns. We will set you up a user account for the training platform in advance of the event.

The main event is planned to finish at 15:30 CET / 14:30 BST, but we will remain online for an additional 15 minutes for attendees who are not yet members of the Digital Collective Memory platform and would like some support to register and explore the platform's functions.

Please let us know your preference and whether you are already a member of the Digital Collective Memory platform in the signup form as this will assist with our planning.

This is an online event and the Zoom link will be shared a few days in advance of the session.
