About this event
What is it?
Digital Skills 4 Girls is a monthly workshop for girls and non-binary young people aged 10 - 17 who want to learn new digital skills or develop existing skills. From coding and gaming to digital design and video, DS4G is a friendly and supportive environment to learn new skills and meet new friends.
What will I learn?
In this fun and hands-on workshop, we’ll learn how to design and prototype our very own web app using Lovable.dev, an AI-powered digital product builder that turns ideas into reality.
Led by Shuli Yu (former Head of Product at Judge.me and now founder of Yush), the session will walk participants through the basics of product thinking: identifying a problem, imagining a solution, and designing a simple digital product that people can use.
We’ll explore a couple of real-world creative briefs – like how to capture feedback at events, or how to design a tool to help someone choose an outfit – and guide participants to sketch out their ideas, build them into Lovable, and share them at the end of the session.
No prior tech experience is required – just bring your imagination!
All materials and laptops provided. Parents are invited to view the girls’ final creations at the end of the session.
This session runs at the same time as Prewired, a coding club for under 19s.
About Shuli
Shuli Yu is the founder of Yush, a startup that helps people give instant, visual feedback on-the-go using emojis, photos, and short comments. Previously, she led the product team at Judge.me to become the #1 reviews platform on the Shopify store with over 400K users – all without traditional marketing or sales. Shuli holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and a BSc in Information Systems, and has worked as a decision-making researcher at Michigan State University and the Max Planck Institute.
