Event Details

It has been predicted that the Digital Skills gap could put at risk £141B in GDP growth for the UK economy. A recent report from the Open University found that 9 in 10 organisations have a shortage of digital skills. The same report found that 37% of employees expect their roles to alter significantly because of developments in technology. Move than half of the companies surveyed thought that technology evolves too quickly for organisations to keep up.

"With almost 8,000 digital and digital-intense creative businesses in Greater Manchester employing more than 82,300 people and generating £4.1bn of economic growth annually, Greater Manchester is already home to the largest cluster outside London.” - The Greater Manchester Digital Strategy 2018-2020

This roundtable/panel discussion will examine the Digital Skills Gap as it relates to Greater Manchester and discuss current and potential activities to address the gap.

We will be joined by representatives from Manchester City Council, leading tech employers and the University sector including representation from the National Institute of Coding.

Please join us if you have a view on the Digital Skills Gap in Manchester or just want to learn more.
