Event Details

YOU HAVE TO BE AGED 19 + to study with us.

This course runs for x2 consecutive Saturday sessions during 2 weeks:  Sat 03 Feb, Sat 10 Feb. 

Mornings: 10:00 - 14:30 with short lunch break.

 

Our course is aimed at total beginners, who want to be able to understand and unveil their SLR camera full potential, but it is also aimed at those learners who might not have used their cameras in a while and therefore might need some sessions to bring their knowledge and confidence back.

Learners will gain a thorough understanding of how to operate their digital camera, while the tutor goes through the basics of the camera itself, helping you to uncover different functions and to better use shutter speeds, F-stops white balance etc... This will allow you to be a more confident photographer and to display your creative photography skills.

You will have access to one of the most innovative buildings in London, where you will be taught by an experienced, practising tutor in a creative industries.

 

Once you have completed the course you will be able to:

  • Understand your camera settings, buttons and functions in order to enhance and improve your photography.
  • Use the correct exposure combining different shutter speeds, apertures and ISO. 
  • Better use of depth of field and blur functions.
  • Set up camera for night display shoots.
  • Manage white balance.
  • Be creative with focus and photo composition and have fun while doing it!

 

This opportunity can be used to enhance your skills in development and preparation towards subsequent education and/or employment, if you are starting your own business or already run your own business, or alternatively as an enjoyable way to engage with new people and new ideas in the fantastic setting of the new Ravensbourne building.

Learners need to bring their own DLSR cameras, lense and memory card.

Minimum IT skills required to commence the course

Basic computer skills.  Saving, retrieving & opening files etc

IT skills gained on completion of the course

Basic, appropriate skills in using DLSR cameras
