DIGITAL SPORT LONDON #10
Thank you to everyone who came along to last month's interesting event where we looked at how data has become ever more important within the sports industry.
This month we're looking ahead to what is coming up, with some great chats and presentations before we take our summer vacations (me included) and refresh our minds for the rest of the year. We'll be both looking back and forward at two different sports with The Football League and All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) and how they are using digital media to engage with fans in their sports.
This is the 10th successive month we've been running our evening events in London. There will be no August event but we're working on a September London event plus half day events in Manchester (1st October), Cardiff and Berlin (28th October).
Russell Scott - Director, Digital @ The Football League
We'll be speaking to Russell about the impact he's had since joining the Football League last year and hearing about plans they've been developing for the new season, which is only a few short weeks away.
Alexandra Willis - Content & Communications Manager @ Wimbledon / AELTC
Alex will be speaking about this year's Wimbledon tournament, one of the most digitally driven we have ever seen. Together with technology partner IBM they delivered a host of interactive initaitives including Hill v The World and the IBM Social Media Command Centre. You can read more about what they had planned in the UKSN interview with Alex here.
6.00pm - Doors open
7.00pm - Russell Scott Q&A
7.30pm - Drinks break
8.00pm - Alexandra Willis presentation/Q&A
8.45pm - Drinks and networking
The cost this month is only £10 + fee as we're heading back to one of our favourite bars. In January 2013 we held an event with Richard Ayers which had over 100 people turn up at the Sports Bar. Hopefully this month will prove to be equally popular.
