Description

After a successful event in January Google Digital Garage will be returning to Dalkeith to present another digital training day on Tuesday 28th May 2019, aimed to show local charities how they can promote their organisations, both online and in person, and also how to check that they have an effective online presence.

The event has been organised by Midlothian Financial Inclusion Network in collaboration with Melville Housing Association and Volunteer Midlothian.

This is a free training event for third sector organisations and their partners who are based in Midlothian or who work in Midlothian.

The day's training will comprise the following three sessions, two in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Writing for Social Media:

Learn how to create compelling content and develop a tone of voice that’s right for your organisation.

What will I learn?
- How to develop a brand tone of voice for an organisation on social media
- Writing techniques to help hone writing for small spaces online
- The different ways of responding to customer complaints on social media

Intro to Digital Marketing:

Gain an overview of how to market your organisation online, an introduction to digital marketing options

What will I learn?
- How the internet has changed marketing
- How to use digital marketing to connect with your target audience
- The different ways to start using digital marketing right now

Get Your Organisation Visible on Google:

Learn how to start showing up on Google Maps, plus ways to make your organisation more visible on Google.

What will I learn?

A hands-on class where you can create a listing for your organisation on Google Maps
- Learn about the Google Search console and how it can help you monitor and maintain your website’s presence in Google Search results
- How to use Google’s My Business platform to manage your organisation’s presence on Google


The day starts at 9:30 am and ends at 3:30 pm, a light lunch will be provided, when you register you will be able to let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements.

What are the transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Corn Exchange is on Dalkeith High Street, you can park on-street close to the building and there are bus stops nearby.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, we will have a list of attendees at the event.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, just let us know on the day the name of the person whose place you have taken.
