Description

Digital While Black, an unconference exploring gender, race, class and digital expression, part of 'We Run This' program at Birmingham Open Media.

Come and join us for a day of discussions, workshops and talks as we interrogate how digital platforms and media influence and are influenced by our experience of race and gender. Explore work by artists such as Tabitha Rezaire and Emily Mulenga, and contribute your own perspectives and questions through workshops, panels and more.


Highlights

12pm Panel on impact of digital platforms and media on self expression, led by Bolanle Tajudeen (Black Ballad, formerly Black Blossoms), Chella Ramanan (BAME in games) and Ain Bailey (digital music artist and lecturer).

2:30pm Zine making workshop (Charlotte Bailey)

2:30pm Introductory web development (Olu Niyi Awusosi)

5:30pm Guest talk from comic artist and illustrator Nicole Miles
