A day for women taking their first step into tech. Join us on Wednesday 5th August for a jam-packed day full of information and inspiration.

About this Event

Are you considering a career change in tech, but not sure you have the digital skills to progress?

Are you aware of the opportunities available in the digital sector?

The Institute of Coding and partners are proud to host a free online event for women who wish to find out more information about a career in the digital sector and learn new skills. The event is also suitable for women returning to work, considering a career change and those thinking about going to university.

As part of this event, you can hear from people in industry, have a go at practical sessions and listen to panel discussions from inspirational women.

The event is being hosted through the virtual event platform Hopin, however we are gathering registrations through Eventbrite and will direct you to Hopin at a later date.

Sessions:

Sessions include informative discussions and interactive workshops led by a wide variety of women in tech. A panel of professionals who can discuss their own journey into technology leadership along with professionals who are strong advocates for a diverse workforce and encourage everyone into technology within their organisations. There will be presentations on practical applications of digital skills in real life, how tech helped in achieving their goals, and career stories followed by Q&A.

Video Networking:

Have one-to-one conversations with like-minded women on how they got into tech, university representatives for course information and many more inspirational women. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity.

Digital Her will be hosting a Meet the Role Model session, where you’ll get the chance to connect with a variety of women succeeding in tech and digital roles across a multitude of industries. Attendees will be matched with a series of different role models across the session for 1:2:1 interactions. You’ll gather valuable insight into the digital and tech career pathways open to you and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Learn more about the different Institute of Coding courses available at our wide range of universities, and how you can CTRL Your Future.

This event is for an 18+ audience. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the event.

The IoC Privacy Statement

The Institute of Coding (IoC) is a partnership of over 30 universities in England all working hard to address the digital skills gap. This course/event is part of that work, and we want to know about the people attending so that we can find out whether what we are trying to achieve is having an impact.

Your personal data will be collected and stored by Manchester Metropolitan University in accordance with their data policy. As Manchester Metropolitan University are a member of the IoC, an element of your data will then be shared with us. All personal and identifying details will be removed before this data is shared so that all we get are statistics to show how we’re doing against our targets.

The data we collect from you as part of this project will be passed to the Office for Students to allow them to conduct further research and evaluation of the activities funded as part of the IoC project, including combining with data from similar work at other Universities and Colleges. These data may be linked to other data that they hold about you including prior, current or future educational records and records on earnings and employment.
