Event description
Workshop to understand and steer digitalisation of legacy assets within UK manufacturing. For end users, solution providers and integrators.

About this Event

Please note the venue for this event has changed to: Coombe Abbey, Brinklow Road, Binley, Warwickshire, CV3 2AB. This venue is located 5 minutes by car from MTC. A tour of MTC is still available and your nationality information must be provided in advance for this.

What do we mean by 'Legacy' asset? For most of us we immediately think of these as “old” assets, however a Legacy asset could be any piece of manufacturing equipment that we either can’t connect to, have limited information from, or would like to get more insight on than we currently have. This workshop has a heavy focus on obtaining insight, and hence making informed business decisions, from legacy assets through an approach of “providing the right data, in the right format, at the right location, to the right people.”

What is the event for?

  • The High Value Manufacturing Catapult centres are creating pseudo-manufacturer test-beds for low cost technology enabling digitalisation of legacy assets in manufacturing. We are here to facilitate technology start-ups and new market players in the manufacturing sector, and guide the adopters on the potential of low cost technology. We want your feedback on the power of this approach to understand the potential of the technology and support the technology market growth in the UK.
  • We want to inform you (end-users and technology start-ups/new players in the manufacturing sector) about potential funding opportunities and HVMC programs that could be available to support you to pursue your own digitalisation journey.
  • We want to understand:
  1. Your needs for digitalisation as an SME.
  2. Your awareness and concerns at trusting low cost technology solutions if you are an end-user.
  3. Your challenges at testing, developing and proving the capability of your solutions if you are an innovator or technology supplier wanting to enter the manufacturing market.

Agenda (start & end times are fixed):

  • 10:00 -10:30 – Overview of the HVMC work on Digitalisation of Legacy Manufacturing Systems.
