This is a free 2 hour workshop given by Birthrights, the charity devoted to human rights in maternity care.
It is particularly relevant to healthcare professionals but open to all with an interest in this topic.
The workshop will be led by leading human rights barrister and Birthrights Chair, Elizabeth Prochaska, alongside one of Birthrights' healthcare professional Trustees. It will offer an introduction to human rights principles and why they matter in childbirth. It will also examine maternity practices that violate human rights and consider what a human rights centred maternity service looks like.
Birthrights would like to thank The Baring Foundation for supporting Birthrights' Education programme and the Division of Midwifery, University of Nottingham for providing the venue.
