Description

Aim: To have knowledge and understanding of how ethical principles guide decision-making in palliative care

Learning Outcomes:

To have a working knowledge of:

  • Practical clinical ethics - the principles underpinning good practice
  • How ethics can guide symptom management - using pain as an example
  • Mental capacity – decision-making models for patients who lack decision specific capacity
  • Dilemmas in urgent palliative care situations
  • Errors in clinical decision-making
  • GMC guidance on hydration and artificial feeding at the end of life

There is no charge for these Study Days, but we do ask that a holding deposit cheque of £25 per attendee is sent upon booking to confirm your place. These cheques will be returned to you on the day and would only be cashed should we not be notified prior to 2 working days before the Study Day that you are unable to attend.
