Aims:
To provide learners with strategies to fully support children with SEND within their setting.
To increase knowledge of child responses and how these can be predicted and managed effectively.
To increase practitioner/child trust and develop positive relationships.
To reduce the disruption of challenging behaviours for the wider cohort of children.
To support your setting’s wider development of inclusive practice.
We will look at:
The causes of behaviour and how to use models such as ABC and STAR to gain a greater understanding of behavioural triggers.
How to adapt the environment to be more conducive to positive behaviours.
Understanding the impact of family systems and values on behavioural patterns.
Helping families to understand behaviours, why they are occurring and how they can positively work on reducing them.
