Eyedea is very excited to kick off 2018 by hosting the head of British media regulator Ofcom - CEO Sharon White who has been in this role since March 2015. In 2014, Sharon was named the 7th most powerful black person in Britain. Her impressive career has taken her right across Whitehall, into Downing Street, over the pond to the Washington embassy, and to the World Bank. Her post is one of the most powerful in British media, putting Sharon in charge of a range of weighty issues from Britain's broadband infrastructure to regulating the BBC.

About Sharon

Sharon White took over as Chief Executive of Ofcom, the regulatory body in charge of Britain's communications industries, in March 2015. Before joining Ofcom Sharon had a long career in the civil service. She was the second woman in history to become Permanent Secretary at the Treasury, responsible for overseeing the public finances. Before that she held Board level positions at the Ministry of Justice and the Department for International Development. She has worked as a civil service adviser at the Prime Minister's Policy Unit and in Washington DC as a senior economist at the World Bank. Sharon is a trained economist and studied at Cambridge University and University College London.
