Believe it or not, it is that time of the year: Time to celebrate our 2015 achievements together, from the latest vantage point of our city: Sky Garden.
Located on the 35th floor of the controversial 20 Fenchurch tower (aka Walkie Talkie) by Rafael Viñoly Architects, the Sky Garden is part of the Section 106 Contributions made by developers Land Securities and Canary Wharf Group.
It is a public garden suspended over the skyline of London; a vantage point from which one can enjoy the views of the ever changing city.
Modelled in the glass architectures of the ninetieth century (in its conception at least), the final result offers a wonderful 360 degree view as a series of picture frames. The places are limited and the opportunity should not be missed,
When & Where
NAWIC London & South East
"In a multicultural society where the communities we design for and the client bodies we design with are diverse, so should be our teams."
Founded in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1955, the National Association of Women in Construction is one of the world's longest running organisations for women working in construction. Run entirely by volunteers, NAWIC UK and Ireland is a diverse Not-For-Profit Association founded in 2003, after signing an international affiliation agreement.
As an organisation, we are committed to encouraging individuals to pursue, establish and sustain successful careers in the Construction Industry by creating opportunities to access inside knowledge, share best practice, develop personal and professional skills and to grow professional networks.
Our members are individuals working in an industry they feel passionate about. They thrive in diverse environments and enjoy working as a team in the shaping of the built environment.
- A shift of focus from gender to ability.
- Levelling the playing field in the industry.
- Ending of stereotypes
