Enter our Jungle Room, put on your explorer's hat, and get ready to jump back in time. Inside you'll find lots of things to do and see! Then head outside to our covered desert Dinosaur Dig to unearth some dinosaur fossils yourself!
In the Jungle Room
Meet Rex, the Terrible Tyrannasaur! Every hour, our 16 foot long, 8ft high majestic walking, roaring dinosaur will be introduced to the crowd, with his special handler. Come meet the king of beasts! Come and take your snaps, but mind his teeth!
If Rex is too scary, come play with our cuddly Velociraptor baby! His dino-sitter will be bringing him around the room for walks each hour!
Dont forget to strike a pose in our jungle setting with our 10 foot long Triceratops!

Explorers Depot –Customise your souvenir Safari Hat with loads of cool dinosaur stickers.
Dino Detective Hut – Collect your very own dinosaur egg. Use the tools to crack it open or spray it with the Paleo spray to watch it bubble away and reveal a special surprise!
Face Painting & Tattoos - Choose from a range of dinosaur looks and transform into a very scary creature or wear one proudly on your arm!
Snakes Adventure – Snakes have been around since the Jurassic era. Come and meet these modern day dinosaurs for yourself! Pet, hold and take photos with them!
Dinotopia Art - Bigger kids will go wild over our How to Draw Dinosaur boards, making realistic looking beasts, while littles can colour in our fabulous dino pictures!
Big Bouncy Castle – Raise the roof and jump along in our Jurassic playground!

In the Dino Desert
The Big Dino Dig – Become a Palaeontologist and use special tools to unearth the bones of a long extinct creature in our big dig!
In the Explorers Base Camp Cafe
Weary adventurers (and parents) can stop into our Explorers Base Camp Cafe and have some delicious dino drinks and bites!
What is Dinotopia?
Dinotopia is an interactive themed party perfect for families with children aged between 3 and 10. It will aim to be as immersive as possible, with sets, props and lighting to transport you into the Jurassic age, and an archeological expedition.
Where is Dinotopia being held?
It's being held at Blackmore Village Hall, Nine Ashes Road, Essex, CM4 0QW.
How can I get to Dinotopia?
Blackmore Village Hall is easily accessible from M25, M11, A12, and A414. It is quite close to both Brentwood and Chelmsford. There are local bus routes including the 261 from Brentwood Hiigh Street or the 32 from Chipping Ongar or Chelmsford Railway Station.There is free parking on site. (Please note, some GPS sends you to another rural spot on Nine Ashes Road. Blackmore Village Hall is right on the edge of central Blackmore Village, so please use that as your guide and follow signs to Blackmore.)
What does my Dinotopia ticket include?
Tickets include child's souvenir plastic hat, mini dinosaur egg toy, all entertainment (Big T-rex, Baby Dinosaurs, Snake petting, and photo area), bouncy castle, face painting/tattoos, and all crafts and activities. The only additional things to buy are food & beverage, and retail vendor stalls (balloons, toys, etc.)
What are the opening hours of Dinotopia?
There are two sessions of three hours each. 10:00am to 1:00pm, and 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
What ages is Dinotopia suitable for?
Due to the types of activities, the suggested age range is 3-10 years old.
Can we purchase food and drinks on site?
Yes.The Explorers Base Camp Cafe will be open serving hot food and drinks. More details on catering to follow.
Can I bring my own food?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a in your own food.
Is there room for buggies?
There is a small storage area for pushchairs that will fill up fast. Additional storage is availble near the outdoor Dino dig site, but is unprotected from the weather. We would suggest bringing sling or backpack carriers when possible.
Can I leave my child at the event?
No. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times during the event.
Are there activities suitable for disabled children?
We aim to make the event as accessible as possible. The site has an access ramp at the front door, and is flat throughout. There is a disabled toilet facility near the front door. However there may still be some activities which will not be suitable for your child’s needs and it will be up to the individual or parent to decide this.

Yes, there is a baby changing station in the ladies' toilets.
Can I buy alcohol at Dinotopia?
Sorry, but we will not be selling alcohol at DInotopia.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, as long as they have the printout with the original families' name on it, the ticket can be used.
