About this event

This one-day workshop will consider 2 essential elements in our work with children, young people, and their families.

Gaining the child / young persons' 'voice' and lived experience and providing meaningful explanations are central to effective assessment and planning.

This session will consider:

  • The methods, tools and techniques set within the context of the strength based / relationship-based practice principles.
  • How we gain understanding of the child’s views and lived experiences and integrate this into assessment and planning.
  • The importance of co -created explanations (using the words and pictures principles) to support assessment & planning with a focus on explanations for reason for involvement and plans.

To attend this event you:

  • Must be employed by Leicester City Council
  • Must be an invited partner agency representative (LPT / Rutland CC ) *may be chargeable
  • For Signs of Safety Training on the mandatory pathway – you must have attended a one day/2-day Signs of Safety course as a minimum.
