What is Workable NI?

Workable NI is a Northern Ireland-wide programme designed to support individuals with disabilities or health conditions in securing and sustaining employment—either in new roles or in their existing jobs. It also provides tailored guidance to employers to promote inclusive workplaces.

Who can take part in Workable NI?

Employees: Aged 16+, working at least 10 hours per week, and have a disability covered under the Disability Discrimination Act Employers: Any organisation in Northern Ireland committed to supporting employees with disabilities

What services can Disability Action provide to Employees through Workable NI?

1:1 job coaching and mentoring to address day-to-day role challenges through solutions focused, SMART action plans. Soft-skill and assistive-technology training, including Access to Work/ CMP referrals .Support with reasonable workplace adjustments, advice on travel costs, and benefits.

Can Workable support with Mental Health Difficulties?

Yes, Disability Action provide access to fully accredited Mental Health counsellors to support participants with Mental Health difficulties which maybe be making employment difficult to sustain.

Disability awareness and reasonable-adjustment training for staff Guidance on specialised equipment and workplace modifications Help integrating supported employees, including mentoring and on-site visits
