Wed 26 April 2017, 14:00 – 16:00 BST
The time has come for another Disability Arts Network Meeting! We would like you to join us for an update on the progress of our Square Peg project. You will be given the opportunity to share your experience of attending local arts events and to give feedback on accessibility.
We will be presenting a list of projects that are available for free to local disability organisations as well as introducing our new artist in residence, Jason Wilsher-Mills.
The meeting will be BSL interpreted. If you have any other requirements or have any questions please call or email Rachel Elm French on 01482 345104 or email@example.com.
What is Square Peg?
Square peg is a socially engaged, user-led, diversity and disability arts programme. Artlink are delivering a year long programme of accessible events and exhibitions in Hull which will launch on Friday 3rd February 2017. This programme features exhibitions, events, artist residencies, interventions, and training. There are many opportunities for the public to be actively involved in shaping the programme including attending the Disability Arts Network meetings or joining the focus group. We believe that everybody should have the opportunity to participate in artistic and cultural activities.
Our aims are:
Create opportunities for disabled people to inform and attend arts events.
Create opportunities for and to promote the work of disabled/diverse artists.
Raise awareness of barriers faced by disabled people and diverse communities when attending events.
Bring communities together and create a greater understanding.
